Leviticus 16:24 NLT
“Then he must bathe himself with water in a sacred place, put on his regular garments, and go out to sacrifice a burnt offering for himself and a burnt offering for the people. Through this process, he will purify himself and the people, making them right with the Lord.”
Go out to sacrifice
The Lord’s instructions are meticulous and purposeful, ensuring that each task is done properly. For example, before Aaron could proceed with the next task, he must wear his regular garments. This act symbolized his readiness to undertake the solemn responsibility of offering burnt sacrifices for both himself and the people of Israel. Friends, Aaron didn’t wear his regular garments to show off. Therefore, don’t serve God to draw attention to yourself.
Furthermore, the scripture delves into the specific requirements for Aaron’s offerings. He was mandated to conduct two distinct burnt offerings, one for himself and another for the people, and was strictly forbidden from combining the two. The successful completion of these rituals was pivotal to the purification of Aaron and the people of Israel. Friends, whenever it is in power to help others in their walk with the Lord, do not hold back. Always ensure that you use your privilege not just to better your lot but everyone that surrounds you.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that I will not fail to use my privileges to better myself and everyone around me. I ask for this in Jesus’s name, Amen.
