Leviticus 16:16 NLT
“Through this process, he will purify the Most Holy Place, and he will do the same for the entire Tabernacle, because of the defiling sin and rebellion of the Israelites.”
Through the process
Today’s referenced scripture recounts Aaron’s significant role in the Tabernacle. His involvement was crucial in purifying the people of Israel and making them right with the Lord. Without his contribution, the purification of the entire Tabernacle, including the Most Holy Place, would not have been possible. In other words, Aaron held the key to the purification of the Tabernacle and the people of Israel.
What’s truly remarkable about Aaron’s character is that the scripture does not record any instance of him abusing the power that God bestowed on him. Despite being the High Priest and having immense authority, he never neglected his responsibilities or put the people of Israel at risk. He remained humble and dedicated to his duties, always acting in the best interest of his people.
As followers of Christ, we are called to surpass the righteousness of the Pharisees and Sadducees. This requires us to remain humble, regardless of the extent of power at our disposal. We must strive to be like our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ; we must be dedicated to our responsibilities and always act in the best interest of others.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, as I reflect on the power and influence that You have bestowed upon me, I pray that I will use it wisely and justly. I ask that You guide my actions and thoughts so I do not take advantage of the power You have given me. Instead, may I use it to serve Your people with humility, compassion, and kindness. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
