Numbers 3:29 NLT
“and they were assigned the area south of the Tabernacle for their camp.”
G.R.A. – God Reserved Area
Similar to the Gershonite clans, the Lord assigned the Kohathites a specific area in which to dwell, located to the south of the Tabernacle. The reason for this southern placement is known only to God. However, we can infer that the area was sufficient to accommodate all the Kohathites. Just as God knows what is best for us, it is our responsibility to accept His guidance.
Another insight for living is the willingness of the Kohathites to live together. Although they likely came from different economic backgrounds, Scripture does not indicate that any of them chose to live in separate areas. Even Moses, Aaron, and his sons resided among the other Kohathites, despite their elevated positions within the Israelite community.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray that I will fully accept and embrace the purpose and location You have designated for my life. Please help me recognize that this place is filled with all that I need, especially Your comforting and transformative presence. May I find joy and strength in my surroundings, trusting that You have placed me here for a reason and that Your love and support are always within reach. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
