Numbers 3:17 NLT
“Levi had three sons, whose names were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.”
Levi had three sons
In today’s world, the distortion of history has become alarmingly prevalent, creating a fog of confusion even among those who share a common belief and fellowship in Christ. It raises a fundamental question: can we genuinely claim to be true followers of Christ, and indeed of God Himself, if we do not steadfastly uphold the truth?
Take the example of Moses, who, despite being a pivotal figure in biblical history and hailing from the tribe of Levi, did not elevate himself above others based on his lineage. Moses’ humility is particularly striking; he accepted the divine calling and the mission bestowed upon him by God without seeking personal glory or recognition.
Had Moses chosen to focus on his heritage or to promote his own children’s names in place of God’s divine purpose, he could have easily done so. However, by prioritizing God’s intentions over his own ambitions, Moses exemplified profound integrity and faithfulness. His actions serve as a wake-up call for all of us to align our lives with the divine purposes set forth by God, rather than getting lost in the pursuit of personal accolades or historical distortions. Moses’ commitment to honouring God’s directive is a timeless lesson on the importance of humility and authenticity in our spiritual journeys.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humbly ask for Your guidance as I strive to deepen my relationship with You. Please fill my heart with the wisdom and understanding to uphold the sanctity of Your Word. In my daily endeavours and interactions within Your vineyard, may I always remember to seek Your glory rather than personal recognition. Help me to be a vessel for the Holy Spirit, embodying Your love and truth in every action and word. May my life reflect Your teachings, inspiring others to draw closer to You. In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen.
