Numbers 3:31 NLT
“These four clans were responsible for the care of the Ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, the various articles used in the sanctuary, the inner curtain, and all the equipment related to their use.”
Four clans, seven tasks
In the referenced scripture, we learn that the Kohathites, comprising four distinct clans, were assigned an odd number of duties in the service of the Tabernacle. Notably, the scripture does not provide explicit instructions for how these tasks should be divided among the clans. This absence of detailed guidance is significant as it reflects a deeper understanding of unity and collaboration.
The lack of explicit rules for dividing the tasks does not imply that I AM WHO I AM intended for them to clash with one another. Instead, it suggests that unity can transcend the challenges of uneven task distribution. By fostering a spirit of cooperation, the Kohathites could work together harmoniously, with each member willingly contributing to any task at hand, regardless of their specific assignments. This collaborative approach enabled them to fulfill their divine responsibilities more effectively, focusing on a common goal rather than being preoccupied with how tasks were allocated.
Therefore, we can draw an essential lesson for ourselves: let us strive to operate in unity. It is through this collective spirit that we can fulfill our own divine assignments and tackle challenges, regardless of how tasks are structured. When we come together as a cohesive team, we can significantly enhance the quality of our work and the success of our endeavours.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me focus on doing Your will rather than preoccupying myself with issues of no eternal merit. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
