Numbers 3:11 NLT
“And the Lord said to Moses,”
And the Lord said to Moses
Unlike many prophets and leaders who received messages through angels or visions, Moses experienced a continuous dialogue with God, receiving instruction and guidance face-to-face. There was never a moment when God delegated this sacred task to an emissary; His desire to communicate with Moses was unwavering. In turn, Moses displayed an enthusiastic receptiveness, never growing weary of hearing the profound insights and commandments imparted to him. This direct line of communication is a testament to the deep trust and partnership established between God and Moses.
As we consider that the Lord spoke to Moses, whom He called to lead His people, we must recognize that this divine interaction took place under the old covenant and was consistent. This prompts us to reflect on the transformative nature of the new covenant established through Jesus Christ. Through His sacrificial blood shed on the cross at Calvary, Jesus opened a genuine pathway for direct and personal communion between God and all believers. Given that God engaged so intimately with Moses, we can be assured that, through the grace of Jesus, He longs to connect with us even more profoundly today.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I come before You with an open heart and a humble spirit. Please guide me in identifying and addressing any obstacles—whether they be doubts, distractions, or negative influences—that stand in the way of our communication. Help me to cultivate a mindset that is receptive to Your voice, so that I may hear and understand Your guidance in my daily life. Strengthen my resolve to remove anything that hinders our connection, and lead me towards a deeper, more constant relationship with You. In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen.
