Numbers 2:25-26 NIV
“On the north will be the divisions of the camp of Dan under their standard. The leader of the people of Dan is Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai. His division numbers 62,700.”
On the north
The way God orchestrates His plans is often beyond human comprehension, as His divine method paradoxically contrasts with human reasoning. When we examine the positioning of the tribes around the Tabernacle, we find that God initiated the arrangements from the south. If it were left to human judgment, we would likely have prioritized the northern area first, perhaps due to its perceived significance or visibility.
Furthermore, if humans had controlled this process, assigning roles on the northern side would likely have favoured the sons of Jacob’s wives, reflecting a biased view based on lineage and status. However, God’s approach remains fundamentally different. As outlined in the referenced Scripture, He not only designated the tribe of Dan to occupy the northern position but also elevated them to be the foremost tribe in that area, showcasing His sovereign choice.
This selection reveals a profound truth: God’s criteria for elevation and promotion are not determined by human standards or birthright. The circumstances surrounding their ancestry were of no concern to God when He made His appointments. Therefore, dear friends, do not underestimate your worth or capabilities. Remember that God’s promotion is not limited by time or human judgment; He can raise anyone to a position of honour whenever He chooses. Embrace your potential, as divine purpose can manifest in ways we least expect.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that You assign positions, not minding my background. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
