Numbers 2:5-6 NIV
“The tribe of Issachar will camp next to them. The leader of the people of Issachar is Nethanel son of Zuar. His division numbers 54,400.”
Next to them
Today’s referenced scripture illustrates that the Lord wants His people to coexist. The fact that the east side of the Tabernacle was not reserved solely for the tribe of Judah buttresses it because the Lord commanded that the tribe of Issachar must pitch their tents alongside Judah. This directive underscores a vital lesson: the importance of harmony and coexistence among fellow believers in the presence of God.
Importantly, the arrangement of these tribes was not based on their populations but on God’s divine will. Friends, disregarding the divinely ordained structure can lead to confusion and discord. Therefore, adhering to God’s will in our lives is essential, recognizing that His plans, though sometimes beyond our understanding, are designed for our good and His glory.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to appreciate the position You have given me and to coexist harmoniously with others in Your vineyard, while allowing no room for competition. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
