Numbers 1:51 NLT
“Whenever it is time for the Tabernacle to move, the Levites will take it down. And when it is time to stop, they will set it up again. But any unauthorized person who goes too near the Tabernacle must be put to death.”
At any moment
Walking with God requires availability, which is what the Lord expected from everyone in the tribe of Levi. Their readiness was crucial because the Levites were responsible for disassembling the Tabernacle when it was time to relocate. This process involves careful and deliberate steps to take down the Tabernacle, allowing its reassembly at a new location. Effective disassembly cannot be achieved without the Levites investing time in learning the details and nuances of the Tabernacle’s construction and function. Their expertise is essential; they must be available and prepared to undertake the disassembly and reassembly at a moment’s notice.
Anyone who truly loves God must remain spiritually attuned and ready to navigate shifts in divine direction. The Lord did not want the Levites to become comfortable in any one location; therefore, the decision to disassemble or reassemble the Tabernacle rested solely with God. Another important aspect is the Lord’s strict prohibition against unauthorized individuals approaching the Tabernacle, let alone participating in its disassembly or reassembly. This emphasizes the significance of divine appointment in our spiritual journeys, rather than relying on our feelings or preferences.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray that I will always be available to do the work You have assigned me for Your glory alone. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
