Don’t forget your responsibilities
It is not uncommon for people to assert their rights while overlooking their responsibilities. The tribe of Ephraim didn’t behave as such. They didn’t demand claim only rights and neglect responsibilities when the Lord requested.
In the referenced scripture, we observe a significant moment when the tribe of Ephraim rose to the occasion, demonstrating their commitment to Israel’s collective well-being. The passage reveals that Ephraim mobilized a formidable force of 40,500 men aged 20 and older, ready to defend their nation. This act of solidarity highlights their readiness to shoulder the burdens of responsibility.
Friends, this narrative urges us to recognize that with rights come responsibilities, and we must not relinquish our obligations to each other and our communities. We must embrace our roles and contribute actively, especially when our collective security and well-being are at stake. Let us commit ourselves to fulfilling our responsibilities with the same vigour that the tribe of Ephraim demonstrated.

Heavenly Father, thank You for all the rights that I have in You. I pray that I will not shy away from my responsibilities. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
