Numbers 1:20-21 NLT
“This is the number of men twenty years old or older who were able to go to war, as their names were listed in the records of their clans and families: Reuben (Jacob’s oldest son) 46,500”

God possesses an innumerable array of irrefutable attributes, one of which is that He is not a liar. This foundational characteristic is clearly illustrated in the scripture referenced today. Specifically, when God commanded Moses to “record the names of all the warriors by their clans and families” in Numbers 1:2, He was forthright about the purpose of this monumental task. The intent behind this meticulous listing was to list those who were eligible to fight for Israel.

Twenty verses later, the Lord reiterated the reason for enlisting all men who were twenty years of age and older. This repetition affirms that the Lord does not engage in deceptive practices or “clickbait” strategies, a term often used in modern contexts to describe misleading headlines designed to attract attention without delivering substance. Instead, God is direct and transparent in revealing His purposes and expectations.

Friends, as beloved children of God, it is essential for us to embody the same attribute of honesty and integrity that characterizes our heavenly Father. We should strive to be transparent about our intentions in all our interactions. This means clearly communicating our goals and motivations, ensuring that our words and actions align with our values. By practicing this straightforwardness, we can cultivate trust and strengthen our relationships with one another, reflecting the divine principles we hold dear in our lives.

Heavenly Father, I humbly ask for Your guidance and strength as I strive to embrace straightforwardness in all my endeavours.
