Numbers 1:14 NLT
“Tribe of Gad – Eliasaph son of Deuel”
God increases
Dedicating one’s efforts to any worthy endeavour is always commendable, as this commitment is crucial for achieving favourable outcomes. As followers of Christ, we recognize that while our efforts play a significant role in the results we seek, having God as an integral part of our journey elevates those outcomes to levels beyond human understanding.
Consider the tribe of Gad, which chose a leader named Eliasaph. His name, “God increases,” is a powerful reminder of divine intervention in our pursuits. Eliasaph’s father, Deuel, whose name translates to “knowledge of God” or “known of God,” further underscores the importance of intimacy with the Creator in our lives. Without this vital relationship, individuals may endlessly chase after success, running from one opportunity to another with little to show.
In contrast, those who genuinely know God understand that genuine promotion and growth, symbolized by increases in our lives, do not originate from any geographical direction—east, west, north, or south—but rather come directly from the Lord Himself. This principle is echoed in Scripture, where it’s articulated that while Paul may plant seeds and Apollos may water them, God ultimately provides the increase.
So, I ask you: are you truly known by the God who brings about this transformative increase? Have you cultivated a relationship with Him that allows you to experience the fullness of His blessings in every aspect of your life? Embrace this divine connection, and witness how it can lead to extraordinary outcomes beyond what you envisage.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I desire to know You and be known by You. Please help to involve You in all my undertakings so I will not do in vain but experience the increase that comes from You. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
