Numbers 1:13 NLT
“Tribe of Asher – Pagiel son of Ocran”
Encounter with God
It is not uncommon for individuals to impose their burdens upon others, asking them to drink from a sour cup of pain and disappointment they have experienced. Yet, a truly transformed life—one that has sought the cleansing and redemptive power of Jesus—will never engage in such harmful behaviour. Take Ocran, for instance: despite his name meaning “troubled,” he chose to name his son Pagiel, which translates to “encounter with God.” This poignant choice reflects Ocran’s understanding that true peace and tranquillity come only from a personal encounter with the divine.
Dear friends, if you are in turmoil or distress, I encourage you to seek Jesus. In Matthew 11:28, He offers a profound promise: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” This invitation extends to all who are troubled, offering solace and renewal. The assurance that comes from this promise is everlasting, as His faithfulness endures from generation to generation, providing a steadfast refuge in times of struggle. Remember, through this encounter with God, we can find genuine peace and hope, regardless of our challenges.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I earnestly seek a profound encounter with You, for it is in Your presence that my deepest fears can be conquered and transformed into faith. Please help me tangibly experience Your love and grace so I may walk confidently in the light of Your truth and find peace knowing You are always by my side. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
