“Tribe of Dan: Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai”
Brother of help
Every parent has the power to guide their children along a specific path, but the crucial question is: which path are you choosing for yours? In the case of Ammishaddai, he decided the godly path for his son. The name Ammishaddai bestowed upon his son, Ahiezer, reveals his deep-seated desire for his child to embrace a particular mindset. This mindset centers around being helpful, as the name Ahiezer translates to “my brother is help.” Ammishaddai’s choice of name for his son reflects not just a fleeting hope, but a profound commitment to nurturing a spirit of assistance rooted in noble intentions — those that ultimately praise God.
Dear friends, take a moment to reflect: What mindset reigns in your heart? Is it one that fosters compassion and generosity, or does it lean towards something more self-serving? The trajectory you set for your children begins with the values you embody and instill in them.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humbly pray that my life will consistently reflect a mindset aligned with Your will, allowing me to honor and glorify You in all that I do. May my thoughts, words, and actions be a testament to Your love and grace, guiding others to see Your light through me. Help me to cultivate kindness, patience, and humility in my daily interactions, so that every moment is an opportunity to worship You and share Your goodness with the world. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
