Numbers 1:10 NLT
“Ephraim son of Joseph- Elishama son of Ammihud
God hears
There is something profound about God—He listens attentively to the pleas of His people. This divine responsiveness is beautifully captured in the name Ammihud, which signifies “people of praise” given to his son. In choosing to name his son Elishama, which means “my God has heard,” Ammihud conveys a deep history of seeking and receiving divine intervention. This name suggests that Ammihud must have earnestly petitioned God for guidance or support in a significant matter. In His grace, the all-sufficient I AM WHO I AM responded to those petitions.
Friends, whatever burdens you carry and whatever prayers you may have today, take heart in the assurance that your response tomorrow will be Elishama. You will not need to repeat your requests, for the Lord will have diligently attended to your concerns and transformed your cries into a resounding song of praise. As you surrender your petition to God, trust that He will provide answers that lead to rejoicing and gratitude in your heart.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I find comfort in what You have done in the past, knowing that You will never disappoint or fail to respond to my pleas for mercy today. For every answered prayer, let me always say Elishama. In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen.
