Numbers 1:1 NLT
“A year after Israel’s departure from Egypt, the Lord spoke to Moses in the Tabernacle in the wilderness of Sinai. On the first day of the second month of that year he said,”
Take note
In one’s walk with the Lord, it is always beneficial to take note of significant moments, much like Moses did in the scriptures. Moses made it a point to remember the profound event when the Lord delivered His people from slavery in Egypt. Friends, do you take the time to document the moments when God performs miracles in your life? Recording these instances not only helps you reflect on His faithfulness but also allows you to express your gratitude each anniversary.
Another important insight is that on the anniversary of the Israelites’ liberation from bondage, the Lord chose to communicate with Moses. This signifies that God actively remembers the milestones of His people. Perhaps we can suggest that on the anniversary of every miracle, it is reasonable to expect God to bestow additional blessings upon those who have experienced His grace.
Furthermore, the fact that God chose to speak to Moses in the Tabernacle, rather than on the holy grounds of Mount Sinai, conveys a profound truth: God is not confined to any specific location. His desire to communicate with us is not limited by our surroundings. As long as you and I are willing and open to listening, He is ready to engage with us, no matter where we find ourselves. This openness allows us to experience His presence and guidance in our everyday lives.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, just as You sought out Moses to speak to him, I ask that You seek me out and communicate with me. Help me to cultivate a heart that is open to hearing Your voice and to living in a way that pleases You. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
