Leviticus 27:34 NLT
“These are the commands that the Lord gave through Moses on Mount Sinai for the Israelites.”
The instructions are from the Lord, not from Moses.
God chose Moses to guide the Israelites out of Egypt’s bondage. During the arduous journey through deserts and hardships, God foresaw the necessity of establishing a framework of divine instruction to keep His people aligned with His will. In His wisdom, God entrusted this crucial information to Moses, highlighting not only the significance of Moses as a mediator but also the nature of Moses himself.
This narrative teaches us several important lessons. First and foremost, it underscores Moses’s character. He was a man of integrity whose life and actions were profoundly pleasing to God. His humility and faithfulness rendered him worthy of receiving the commandments directly from the Creator, illustrating the trust God placed in him to lead His people.
Secondly, we gain insight into the profound love of God through these commandments. While they serve as guidelines for righteous living, they also reflect God’s desire to protect us from the chaos that comes with a life devoid of divine principles. Instead of allowing His people to wander or follow harmful paths, God graciously provided commandments designed to guide them closer to Him and to foster a society rooted in justice, love, and mutual respect.
My dear brothers and sisters, can God find you worthy of being a custodian of divine instructions necessary to keep His people in line with His purpose?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me live my life so that You will find me worthy of carrying out assignments for You. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
