Leviticus 27:6 NLT
“A boy between the ages of one month and five years is valued at five shekels of silver; a girl of that age is valued at three shekels of silver.”

The Lord’s loving nature
When dedicating children to God, today’s referenced scripture highlights a significant instruction: only those children younger than one month are exempt from this sacred commitment. This exemption underscores the Lord’s loving nature and His desire for these infants to receive the nurturing and care they need from their mothers before being brought into His service. Allowing a whole month after birth gives parents the crucial time to consider and pray over their decision to dedicate their child to the Lord.

Furthermore, the allowance for dedicating infants as young as one month old to the Lord’s vineyard signifies that it is never too early to introduce children to a life rooted in faith. In fact, the earlier we begin to guide them spiritually, the more profound the impact can be on their lives.
