Leviticus 26:42 NLT
“Then I will remember my covenant with Jacob and my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.”
Humility reactivates God’s eternal covenant
God’s covenant is everlasting, a divine promise transcending time and circumstance. However, human behaviour, particularly the stubbornness of the heart, can temporarily disrupt the flow of this sacred commitment. This period of stagnation, akin to a spiritual hiatus, will eventually end when sincerity of heart and genuine humility become the norm among individuals.
Today’s scripture highlights that the Lord will steadfastly remember His covenant with the patriarchs—Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham. Each of these remarkable figures faced formidable challenges and trials, often described as storms, yet none were ultimately overwhelmed by their adversities. Their resilience was not a product of their strength or the support of those around them; instead, it stemmed from the unwavering presence of God beside them. God’s covenant with these patriarchs is explicit: He promises never to abandon them until He has fulfilled every intention and purpose for their lives. This profound assurance underscores God’s faithfulness.
The lesson from this narrative is that a heart marked by humility will experience restoration of every blessing that may have been lost. Therefore, friends, embracing humility cannot be overstated. It is essential to unlock the fullness of God’s eternal covenant through Jesus Christ and see it manifest in your life. Only through a willing and humble heart can we fully experience the depths of God’s promises and the grace He extends to those who seek Him earnestly.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray that my behaviours align with Jesus’s teachings and that You always remember Your covenant with Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham and the land where You have situated me. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
