Leviticus 26:19 NLT
“I will break your proud spirit by making the skies as unyielding as iron and the earth as hard as bronze.”
Break your proud spirit before God does it
Today’s scripture reveals that the Lord does not slacken the proud spirit. Because it fosters disobedience, the Lord is committed to confronting and eradicating it without hesitation. The Lord’s declaration that He will not negotiate with the proud spirit but will break it underscores His absolute authority over all principalities and powers, revealing His sovereignty in the spiritual realm.
Further, the scripture emphasizes that the Lord has no connection with the proud spirit. This distinction highlights the incompatibility of pride with a holy life and the importance of humility. The Lord’s method of addressing the proud spirit reaffirms the profound truth that the earth and the heavens belong to Him.
Seekers of righteousness, it’s vital to understand the implications of allowing a proud spirit to take root in our lives. If we desire to experience the fullness of divine favour and guidance, we must consciously reject pride and instead pursue the path of humility and righteousness. In doing so, we open ourselves up to the blessings of God and foster a fruitful relationship with the I AM WHO I AM, ensuring that neither heaven closes its doors nor the earth becomes unyielding in response to our pursuits.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humbly come before You, seeking Your forgiveness for my shortcomings and mistakes. I acknowledge the times I have strayed from Your path and the moments when distractions and doubts cloud my faith. Please wash away my transgressions and help me remain steadfast and unwavering in my journey with You. Grant me the strength and wisdom to reflect Your love and grace daily, and guide me as I grow closer to You. Amen.
