Leviticus 26:17 NLT
“I will turn against you, and you will be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you, and you will run even when no one is chasing you!”
Don’t make God turn against you
There is no need to be afraid when God is on your side. In his letter to the believers in Rome, Paul posed a rhetorical question: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” Indeed, no one can challenge us because when the Red Sea saw the people of Israel, it parted—not because of their numbers, but because it recognized God leading them.
Now, imagine if the Lord were no longer leading the charge; in that case, the enemies would act as they please. This situation only occurs when people choose to exclude God from their endeavours. In today’s referenced scripture, the Lord reveals what He will do in response to the rejection of His commands and what follows. The great “I AM WHO I AM” states that He will withdraw if the people of Israel test Him by declaring that their enemies will not only fight them but will also defeat them. The Lord indicated that His absence, due to their disobedience, would make them vulnerable to harsh leadership and a lack of peace, resulting in scenarios where they would flee without anyone pursuing them.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray that I may avoid putting myself in precarious situations. If there have been moments when I have acted carelessly or made choices that put me at risk, I ask for Your forgiveness, knowing that it is through Christ that I receive grace. Please strengthen my resolve to live each day for Your glory alone, allowing my actions to reflect Your love and truth in all I do. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
