Leviticus 25:28 NLT
“But if the original owner cannot afford to buy back the land, it will remain with the new owner until the next Year of Jubilee. In the jubilee year, the land must be returned to the original owners so they can return to their family land.”

God’s word: the source of restoration
Everything that God communicates possesses profound significance, and it requires a deep level of patience and contemplation to truly grasp and integrate those teachings into our lives. A case in point is today’s referenced scripture. Its first sentence focuses on a singular original owner. However, in the concluding sentence, the Lord refers to the original owner in plural form. This shift raises an interesting question: How does a single original owner evolve into multiple original owners?

One plausible explanation could be that the original owner had no children when the land was sold. Over time, God blessed him, expanding his family and granting him offspring. Although these children were not yet born at the time of the transaction, they became joint heirs with their father by their biological connection. Consequently, in Jubilee, these offspring can rightfully claim their ancestral land.

Moreover, a significant insight for living emerges from the notion that the Lord allows them the opportunity to return to their family land. This implies that any deprivation experienced is not an everlasting or irrevocable state. Instead, the Lord has ordained a specific time for these individuals to reclaim their inheritance and reestablish their connection to their heritage.

It’s essential to recognize that no human endeavour can effectively restore what has been lost, but the word of God possesses unparalleled power. It is sharper and more potent than any two-edged sword, capable of piercing through the deepest struggles and restoring hope and promise. In this light, it becomes clear that divine intervention, through the wisdom and authority of God’s word, is the ultimate source of restoration and healing for those yearning to recover their rightful place.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, true restoration can take place in my life only by the power of Your word. I earnestly ask You to speak Your word into my situation, bringing clarity and healing to every area where I have experienced loss. Let Your divine voice resonate within me so that every lost inheritance—whether it be joy, peace, purpose, or opportunity—can be fully restored and renewed. I trust in Your promise and guidance, believing that, through Your word, all things can be made whole again. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
