Leviticus 25:8 NLT
“In addition, you must count off seven Sabbath years, seven sets of seven years, adding up to forty-nine years in all.”
‭‭
In addition
Whenever the Lord provides instruction, we can be confident that it serves our best interests. A thorough examination of the referenced scripture reveals no explicit details about the specific instructions meant to be conveyed. However, this absence of clarity teaches us an important lesson: we must be willing to wait for God to reveal His will to us. We mustn’t be in a rush when He is imparting guidance. We should be prepared to receive all the instructions He has for us before departing His presence to implement them.

Moreover, one significant requirement the Lord set for the people of Israel, particularly those engaged in agriculture, was the necessity of personal responsibility. He emphasized the importance of counting “seven sets of seven years, adding up to forty-nine years in all,” which refers to the observance of the Year of Jubilee. This responsibility fell not on the priests or Moses but the farmers themselves, illustrating that each individual must take ownership of their divine mandates.

Friends, I pose this question to you: Are you diligently tending to your personal divine messages, or are you waiting for others to carry that burden for you? Consider the example of Moses. Despite his advanced age, when the people of Israel faced the Amalekites, he raised his hands in prayer, demonstrating unwavering commitment to his personal responsibility. This act of leadership underscores the importance of each individual taking active participation in their spiritual journey rather than relying solely on others.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for the patience to wait for Your guidance and instruction in all aspects of my life. Please grant me the wisdom to discern Your will and the strength to fully embrace the personal responsibilities You have entrusted to me. Help me to carry these burdens with grace and steadfastness, knowing that Your love and guidance support me. Thank You for Your unwavering presence in my life. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
