Leviticus 24:23 NLT
“After Moses gave all these instructions to the Israelites, they took the blasphemer outside the camp and stoned him to death. The Israelites did just as the Lord had commanded Moses.”
‭‭
Moses gave all the instructions
The disposition of Moses toward the Lord’s instructions, particularly regarding his responsibility to communicate them to the people of Israel, offers valuable insights in several ways. As the referenced scripture indicates, Moses did not withhold any of the instructions from the Israelites, which suggests a deep commitment to their well-being and a profound love for his people. He understood the gravity of the Lord’s commands and was determined to ensure that no one among them would transgress these divine directives. This transparency highlights his role as a faithful leader who prioritized obedience to God over concerns for his comfort or popularity.

Moreover, by openly sharing all instructions, Moses demonstrated his unwavering belief that God’s guidance is absolute and unchanging. He recognized that no human influence should alter or obscure the divine commandments. This acceptance of God’s authority reflects a deep humility and a conviction that, despite the challenges that may arise, God’s wisdom surpasses human understanding.

Additionally, the lesson extends to the collective responsibility of the Israelites. The scripture emphasizes that “they” refers to all community members rather than a select few, underscoring that everyone plays a crucial role in upholding God’s will. Friends, this call to action reminds us that creating an environment free from moral and spiritual contamination requires the active participation of all involved. It is a collective effort that demands courage, commitment, and a willingness to set aside personal emotions in favor of fulfilling God’s purpose, even when it proves difficult.
