Leviticus 24:6 NLT
“Place the bread before the Lord on the pure gold table, and arrange the loaves in two stacks, with six loaves in each stack.”
‭‭
Before the Lord
The involvement of the people of Israel and the priesthood in the care and maintenance of the Tabernacle was clear and well-defined. The people took on the significant task of baking the twelve flat loaves of bread using only the finest choice of flour. However, it was necessary to note that their responsibilities did not extend to placing these loaves before the Lord, a role reserved exclusively for the priests. This division of duties highlights a crucial principle: we must operate within our designated boundaries. We mustn’t overstep our roles or attempt to assume responsibilities outside our purview.

Placing the bread before the Lord on the pure gold table in the holy place was a sacred duty entrusted solely to the priests. No one other than the priests could minister in this revered area, emphasizing the sanctity of the priestly role. Therefore, each needs to perform their assigned tasks diligently and with commitment. When we focus on our responsibilities, we minimize the risk of encroachment into others’ domains, and should an incursion occur, we can be assured that it wasn’t due to our negligence.

The twelve loaves of bread in the holy place hold profound significance. It reminds the people of Israel to rely on God for their daily provisions. The twelve loaves specifically symbolize the Lord’s provision for all twelve tribes of Israel, reinforcing the truth that God’s blessings are abundant and available to all His children. However, this raises a fundamental question: Are you among those who belong to Him?

This is because, in the Lord’s Prayer, our Savior taught us to ask the heavenly Father for our daily bread. Yet, if y(our) actions reflect a disconnect from Him, how can you (we) confidently approach Him with such a request? It challenges us to examine our relationship with God—are we living as His true children, fully aware of and embracing the provision He has promised to those who belong to Him?

Prayer
Heavenly Father, You are the great provider. I come before You to ask for our daily bread for myself and others calling on You. Please grant us an immeasurable supply, all for the glory of Your name. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
