Leviticus 24:3 NLT
“This is the lampstand that stands in the Tabernacle, in front of the inner curtain that shields the Ark of the Covenant. Aaron must keep the lamps burning in the Lord’s presence all night. This is a permanent law for you, and it must be observed from generation to generation.”
Do your responsibility
God Almighty never places burdens on anyone, and today’s referenced scripture clearly illustrates this truth. If God were a taskmaster, Aaron would have been responsible not just for ensuring that lamps kept burning in the Lord’s presence all night but would have been required to source the pure oil pressed from olives. The fact that God did not instruct him or his descendants to do so speaks volumes.
First, it shows that God does not contradict Himself. Imagine that Aaron had been included in getting pure oil from pressed olives. Fulfilling such a task would have caused a temporary absence from his main duty of caring for the Tabernacle.
Secondly, since God assigned this responsibility to the people of Israel, it suggests that maintaining the Tabernacle’s daily operations—particularly ensuring that the lamps remain lit day and night—is a community effort. The people are to bring the pure oil of pressed olives, while Aaron must tend to the lamps, keeping them burning in the Lord’s presence throughout the night.
For Aaron to fulfill his duties effectively, the people of Israel must also diligently play their part. It is essential that no one supplies oil of inferior quality, as this would dilute the rest’s effectiveness and render Aaron’s efforts worthless. Friends, are you doing your part? Are you doing it well? Remember, we are all connected, so let’s not jeopardize each other’s efforts.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing that You don’t burden anyone who works for You. Therefore, I pray that You will give me rest from every burden. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
