Leviticus 24:13 NLT
“Then the Lord said to Moses,”
The Lord never disappoint
Undoubtedly, throughout the scriptures, there are numerous instances where it is stated, “Then the Lord said to Moses.” Each of these moments, however, centers on a distinct issue, each imbued with unique and profound meanings that reflect the complexities of divine communication. In the specific scripture referenced here, the purpose of the Lord speaking to Moses was to provide clarity regarding His will about an individual who had blasphemed His holy name.
Although the exact duration before the Lord communicated with Moses remains a mystery, it is significant that the community held steadfast in their expectation of His response. Their faith was ultimately rewarded, as the Lord did indeed speak, affirming His ongoing relationship with His chosen leader. This situation also underscores another profound insight: the Lord revealed His intentions exclusively to Moses. By doing so, He ensured that the message would be delivered faithfully and believed by the people.
This prompts a critical reflection for each of us: What does your integrity regarding the Lord’s message look like? Do you possess a history of upholding the fidelity of God’s will, or have there been compromises? Moses’s unwavering commitment to speaking the truth without embellishment or hesitation was likely why the Lord entrusted him with such essential revelations. This exclusivity may have fostered trust within the community, as they recognized that Moses was not only a messenger but a faithful steward of God’s will.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I ask that You speak to me clearly in all situations I encounter, illuminating my path so that I may discern right from wrong. Please help me to make wise decisions and take confident steps forward, especially in the moments when I feel uncertain or challenged. I place my trust in Your infinite wisdom and love, knowing that with Your direction, I can navigate any matter that arises. So help me, God. In Jesus’s name, I humbly pray. Amen.
