Leviticus 24:12 NLT
“They kept the man in custody until the Lord’s will in the matter should become clear to them.”
‭‭
Always wait for the Lord’s will
Today’s referenced scripture offers several insights for living a life aligned with divine principles. The scenario unfolds with a man who was held in custody after committing blasphemy against the Most High God. This circumstance reveals a remarkable display of patience from the community that heard his offence. Friends, patience is not merely a passive state; it is a fruit of the Spirit we are called to exemplify in our interactions and decisions. Our ability to embody this patience hinges on our trust that God is the righteous judge, executing justice in His perfect timing.

Another insight is that the desire for justice regarding the blasphemer did not stem from human emotion or personal vendetta. Instead, it reflected the collective pursuit of the Lord’s will, which served as their unwavering anchor. Friends, in our daily lives, we must ground our choices in the will of the Lord, for His guidance brings true joy and satisfaction to our hearts.

Moreover, the community’s decision to refrain from rushing to a verdict speaks volumes about their faithfulness. The scripture indicates they chose to wait until the Lord’s will regarding the matter became clear. Whether this waiting period lasted just a few hours, stretched into days, or even extended weeks, the revelation of God’s purpose was sure to come, albeit not instantly. This underscores the importance of patience and reliance on divine timing, reminding us that meaningful answers and solutions often require us to wait, trust, and seek clarity from the Lord.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I seek guidance in my decision-making process. I humbly ask that I not make choices based solely on human facts or opinions but on Your Word. Please send the Holy Spirit to remind me, gently and consistently, to exercise patience and discernment in every decision I face. I pray that through this patience, I may align my will with Yours and truly understand the path You have laid out for me. May I be attentive to the still, small voice of Your guidance, ensuring I do not overlook or misinterpret the Lord’s will for my life. Amen. In Jesus’s name, I humbly pray. Amen.
