Leviticus 23:7 NLT
“On the first day of the festival, all the people must stop their ordinary work and observe an official day for holy assembly.”
All people
In John 3:16, we find one of the most profound statements about God’s love for humanity: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This verse emphasizes that Jesus came not for a select few but for everyone across all boundaries. His mission transcended ethnicity, nationality, and social class, reflecting a divine inclusivity that welcomes all individuals to embrace His love.
The significance of this universal outreach is further imparted in the referenced scripture because it calls for all people to gather and observe the festival. This directive explicitly includes everyone, regardless of social standing or economic status. It underscores the notion that all individuals, whether natives or foreigners, men or women, young or old, and even slaves and their masters, should halt their daily routines to celebrate together. This call implies that God views all his children alike.
Friends, we ought to reflect on the importance of inclusivity from the lens of the Bible in our practices. We must be careful not to impose narrow restrictions based on human traditions that could prevent anyone from experiencing a connection with God. Our approach should mirror the heart of Christ, ensuring that His desire for fellowship is extended to everyone without barriers so that all may partake in the richness of His grace and goodness.
