Leviticus 23:23 NLT
“The Lord said to Moses,”
Dare to be different
When we encounter something repeatedly, its significance often fades into the background of our minds. Consequently, we are eager to move on to the next thing because we usually think we’ve maxed out our insights or meanings.
Take, for instance, the phrase “the Lord said.” It is worth noting that it appears over 2,000 times in the Old Testament. But did you know that 238, translating to more than 10 percent—approximately one in every ten occurrences—were explicitly directed to Moses?
With the many individuals documented throughout the Old Testament, such a proportion signifies something truly distinctive about Moses’s relationship with God. However, it’s crucial to recognize that Moses was not created uniquely compared to other figures; instead, it was his choice to pursue a different path that attracted divine communion.
The takeaway here is compelling: God is eager to communicate with each of us, but the real question lies in our readiness and willingness to listen to Him. Are we cultivating our lives in such a way that invites divine dialogue and spiritual communion? Friends, let us dare to be different in our walk with the Lord.

Heavenly Father, please help me as I tune my ears and reposition my heart always to listen and be willing to do Your will. I pray that I will not take Your communion for granted. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
