Leviticus 23:1 NLT
“The Lord said to Moses,”
God doesn’t use and dump
The scripture referenced makes it abundantly clear that God is perpetually willing to communicate with those who genuinely seek to hear Him. Even when Aaron and his sons had been designated for sacred duties, God continued to impart His revelations through Moses, demonstrating that His desire to connect with His people transcends the roles we may assign ourselves or others. This illustrates a fundamental truth: God does not operate on a use-and-dump basis. He values every individual deeply and is invested in the holistic well-being of His creation, encompassing not just physical needs but also our emotional and mental health.
As we reflect on this, we need to avoid adopting a use-and-dump mentality in our relationships with others. Life can be challenging, and during difficult times, certain individuals may enter our lives to provide support. However, we should not forget or dismiss those who stood by us during our moments of struggle, those who were there when we felt utterly alone. Genuine relationships are built on mutual respect, loyalty, and understanding, and it’s vital to honour those connections rather than discard them once new people come into our lives.
Moreover, it’s significant to note that God did not call out to Moses as He did to Adam. This distinction suggests that Moses had not strayed away from his place in God’s presence. He remained steadfast in the position where he engaged in dialogue with God. Friends, we should strive to cultivate our relationship with God so that He doesn’t need to call us back to Him. Instead, we should consistently be in tune with His word and presence, living lives that reflect His guidance and wisdom so that we can respond affirmatively when He speaks. Let us remain vigilant in our spiritual walk, ensuring that we stay close to God and allow His voice to influence our daily lives constantly.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray earnestly that I may always remain open to Your voice and never engage in anything that would cause a rift in our relationship or lead me away from Your presence. Please help me recognize the choices I make and the paths I take so I can remain aligned with Your will. I cherish our connection and long for Your continual communication in my life. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
