Leviticus: 22:17 NLT
“And the Lord said to Moses,”
Lord, please speak to me
Imagine a scenario where the Prime Minister of Canada chooses to converse with you rather than you seeking their attention. The sheer exhilaration of such an opportunity would be hard to contain. Now, imagine that this kind of interaction has become a regular occurrence. How might we approach this privilege? You would undoubtedly strive to maintain an open line of communication, cherishing the moments where dialogue is possible and ensuring they remain fruitful and constructive.
This concept resonates deeply with the instances of communication recorded in scripture, particularly the interactions between God and Moses. These moments were not isolated incidents; they were part of a continuous relationship, a norm rather than an anomaly. It is crucial to recognize that we might risk taking such divine communication for granted if we do not remain mindful of its significance. How God spoke directly to Moses, without needing an interpreter, highlights His omniscience and mastery over all languages, suggesting that divine communication transcends spoken words and cultural barriers.
Certain transformations emerge when we align our lives with God’s principles and strive to live according to His will. One profound change is that God delights in establishing a connection with us and longs for that mutual relationship. Therefore, the call to action for all of us is clear: let us consciously choose to live in a way that honours and pleases Him. Doing so opens ourselves to the incredible opportunity of divine conversation, fostering a deeper understanding and a fulfilling relationship with our Creator.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please speak to me. Help me avoid anything that might prevent You from communicating with me. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
