Leviticus 21:4 NLT
“But a priest must not defile himself and make himself unclean for someone who is related to him only by marriage.”
Only God knows!
It is not uncommon for people to attribute their wrongdoings to the accuser of the brethren’s fault. However, in today’s referenced scripture, the Lord asserts that no priest must defile himself. In other words, they must not be lackadaisical. In the event that a priest is defiled, the scripture implies that the priest should search no further than himself for the culprit. Friends, as Christians, we are a nation of priesthood and can not be reckless in our demeanour. Therefore, let us work out our salvation with fear and trembling.
It is, however, intriguing that the Lord instructed that priests must not defile themselves by attending to the corpses of their wives. The question is, why? Only God knows! Please note that the way we think or perceive situations differs from God’s. In other words, He has a reason for everything, even when we don’t understand certain things or don’t know the reason behind His actions.
Dear friends, there might be exceptions to certain things in life that don’t make sense to us, and God can choose to reveal or conceal them—who are we to question Him?
Prayer
