Leviticus 20:25 NLT
“You must therefore make a distinction between ceremonially clean and unclean animals, and between clean and unclean birds. You must not defile yourselves by eating any unclean animal or bird or creature that scurries along the ground. I have identified them as being unclean for you.”
‭‭
Don’t just know what is right; do it!
Yesterday, we learned through the lens of the scripture that God does not play favouritism in dispensing His grace. His promise to take the native-born to the promised land also applied to the foreigners living with them. As His promise is for all, so are His commands and precepts.

In today’s referenced scripture, God gave both native-born and foreigners two instructions. First, He said they must distinguish between ceremonially clean and unclean animals and birds. With this instruction, the Lord indicated they have what it takes to differentiate between acceptable and unacceptable. Note that Moses or the priest did not make this distinction for them, and no one or a group was assigned to police them. Instead, each person was to hold themselves accountable. Similarly, God has bestowed you and me with the Holy Spirit. Let’s allow Him to guide us into all truth.

As for the second instruction, the Lord implied that knowing what is right is not as important as doing what is right. And that is why the Lord said they must not defile themselves by eating unclean animals and birds. Friends, disobedience does not make anyone look good, nor does it reduce God’s supremacy. Instead, it makes the one who disobeyed to lose spiritual vitality. Therefore, control your penchant always.
