Leviticus 20:4-5a NLT
“And if the people of the community ignore those who offer their children to Molech and refuse to execute them, I myself will turn against them and their families and will cut them off from the community.”
Speak up
As Christians, it is important to remember that the word of God instructs us to strive for peace with everyone (Romans 12:18). However, this pursuit of peace should not lead us to compromise on God’s standards. We are called to uphold His commandments in our daily lives and immediate surroundings (Exodus 23:2). When we encounter situations where God’s commandments are intentionally ignored or ridiculed, we must address this disobedience. If those who have strayed from God’s path refuse correction, we must reconsider our relationship with them (Hosea 4:17).
In the book of Luke, chapter 9, verse 26, we are reminded of the consequences of being ashamed of Christ and His teachings. This verse warns us that if we are ashamed of Him, He will also be ashamed of us when He returns in His glory. The repercussions of God turning away from us and our families are grave and far-reaching. It is crucial to recognize that complacency on anyone’s part can provoke God’s wrath. Therefore, as believers, we must not remain silent or indifferent when we witness any deviation from the redemption achieved by Christ on the cross at Calvary (Isaiah 58:1).
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please have mercy on me wherever I have allowed iniquity to thrive in my environment. Grant me grace and boldness to be unashamed of the word of truth all the days of my life, in Jesus’s name. Amen.
