Leviticus 20:17 NLT
“If a man marries his sister, the daughter of either his father or his mother, and they have sexual relations, it is a shameful disgrace. They must be publicly cut off from the community. Since the man has violated his sister, he will be punished for his sin.”

Above all else, guard your heart
Some time ago, a question was asked about the greatest treasure that everyone has and must take care of. As expected, several answers were provided, ranging from health to family, and while none was incorrect, the greatest treasure is our heart. No wonder the scripture says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

The despicable act God spoke about in the referenced scripture does not happen out of the blue; it is usually premeditated. It will happen to any man who fails to guard his heart through total surrender to Christ Jesus. When a man allows and gives in to any and every kind of desire, and as the scripture, they drag him away or, better still, create a wedge between man and God.

The fact that this act’s initiator is the male gender suggests that man has influence, but an unguided influence leads to destruction. It is imperative to use our influence to bring glory to God.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray for every man that none shall misuse their influence; instead, all of them shall use their influence to engage in endeavours that bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’s name, amen.
