Leviticus 19:22 NLT
“The priest will then purify him before the Lord with the ram of the guilt offering, and the man’s sin will be forgiven.”
In the ready mode
A notable feature in the referenced scripture is that the Lord did not set specific conditions for the priest to meet before participating in the purification exercise. This reveals that the priest continually dedicated their lives to God. As a follower of Christ, it is imperative to constantly live as Christians and always be prepared to serve God.
Additionally, the Lord’s instruction that the priest must not perform the sacrifice anywhere but before the Lord highlights the solemnity of forgiveness. This demonstrates that forgiveness is not a public display but a solemn and reverent act.
Finally, the last sentence states, “The man’s sins will be forgiven,” thus indicating that forgiveness is available when the sinner seeks it. God is gracious and ready to forgive, as stated in Psalm 86:5: “You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.” Friends, if you have transgressed in any way, seek forgiveness through the finished work of salvation of Christ Jesus.
