Leviticus 19:17 NLT
“Do not nurse hatred in your heart for any of your relatives. Confront people directly so you will not be held guilty for their sin.”
*Do you want the best for yourself?*
There are tendencies for friction in human interactions. If not addressed as soon as possible, they often degenerate. The “I AM WHO I AM,” being all-knowing, warned the people of Israel not to allow friction to degenerate into hatred. The Lord stated that instruction isn’t permitted under any condition and for anyone. The Lord instructed that when the people of Israel see or hear anything that could make them upset, they should confront the person or people directly.
So, what are the lessons or implications? First, this instruction tells us that God is love and desires that brethren dwell together in unity. Second, it teaches that as long as we have a classless community, doing what the Lord instructed would be possible. Friends, the Lord wants the best for us. The question is, do we want the best for ourselves? If we do, let us accede to His instructions and create an enabling environment for them to be applied.
Prayer
Dear God, I pray that I will not nurse any hatred toward any of my brethren but work within Your plan to douse any tension and dwell together in unity. So help me, Lord Jesus. Amen.
