Leviticus 19:2 NLT
“Give the following instructions to the entire community of Israel. You must be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy.”
Let your holiness be according to God’s
The first part of the above verse reveals God’s nature. It shows that God doesn’t operate a caste system where some people are better than others, which is why He said the instruction was for the entire community of Israel. In other words, it was for priests and non-priests, the high and the low in the community, and natives and foreigners. God doesn’t excuse anyone from attending to the instruction.
So, what was the instruction? The Lord said the entire community of Israel must be holy just as He is holy. In other words, the instruction is not out of reach for anyone. When anyone is steadfast in God, there will be no regrets. No one can say that being devoted to God has been a mistake. As children of God, God should be our role model because He is perfect.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray that I will not disappoint You. However, I need Your guidance so that I will be holy in all areas of my life. Please guide me, Lord Jesus. Amen.
