Leviticus 18:25 NLT
“Because the entire land has become defiled, I am punishing the people who live there. I will cause the land to vomit them out.”

The earth is the Lord
In today’s scripture, we gain insights into the nature of God. Among other features, it highlights that “I AM WHO I AM” offers numerous opportunities for individuals to change their ways. It emphasizes that even after the occupants of the land defiled it or some part of the Lord, God gave them chances to repent. However, when it became evident that their actions were intractable and the land was thoroughly defiled, God chose to administer punishment. This demonstrates that while God loves those who honour Him, He will also enact His wrath upon those who disobey Him.

The scripture also illustrates God’s supremacy over the land, as He declared that He would cause the land to expel the disobedient individuals. This assertion emphasized God’s authority as the earth belongs to Him and submits to His will. The absence of an expiration date for the punishment of the individuals banished from the land underscores the seriousness of God’s decree, as His word states, “I am punishing the people who live there.” Friends, let’s not defile the land because there is no end in sight for the attendant punishment.

Heavenly Father, please help me so I will love You and everything You love. Please help me, Lord. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
