Don’t let history repeat itself
Today’s scripture contains several important messages. Firstly, it emphasizes the importance of controlling our desires and adhering to the Lord’s standards, as what is abominable to Him should also be considered abominable by us. Secondly, it warns that engaging in abominable practices will result in the loss of God’s blessings. Thirdly, it suggests that the Lord will not hesitate to discipline His people if they stray from His ways, just as He did with the land’s previous inhabitants. Additionally, it reinforces the idea that the earth and everything in it belong to the Lord, as He drove out the previous occupants.

Therefore, we should be mindful of our actions and stewardship of the land in which we reside, recognizing that its ownership ultimately belongs to God. Friends, this scripture urges us to remember that while we live in the world, we are not of the world. We should avoid being swayed by popular opinions, as they often lead us away from God rather than closer to Him so that history will not repeat itself.

Heavenly Father, please help me to love You and everything You love. Please help me, Lord. I ask for this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
