Leviticus 18:23 NLT
“A man must not defile himself by having sex with an animal. And a woman must not offer herself to a male animal to have intercourse with it. This is a perverse act.”

Don’t defile yourself
When God created man, He commented that the creature was very good. God made you beautifully and wonderfully. It doesn’t matter how many people look like you or resemble you; the truth is that there is only one of you. However, there is only one thing that can change God’s “very good” statement about you, and that is you.

Unlike the act in Leviticus 18 verse 22, which the Lord regarded as detestable, the act in today’s referenced scripture is described as a perverse act. A perverse act is deliberately performed even though it is terrible. With this instruction, God warned the people of Israel not to misuse their desires. By extension, God instructs us to control our desires so they will not defile us. If anyone is defiled, they can not blame anyone other than themselves.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me so I will not misdirect my desires towards endeavours that will defile me. Please help me, Lord. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
