Leviticus 18:19 NLT
“Do not have sexual relations with a woman during her period of menstrual impurity.”
Don’t do it
The human inclination to weigh the potential outcomes of our actions is undeniable. We often seek such knowledge to understand the gravity of the consequences and how to mitigate them. However, when the consequences of an action are unknown, there is a risk of becoming complacent. We might reassure ourselves that it’s safe to proceed because many others do so without facing repercussions.
As believers in Christ, it’s crucial to remember that failing to act on what is right is tantamount to sin, as stated in the scripture. We cannot justify or rationalize actions that we know to be wrong.
Paul’s letters to the Corinthians illustrate his belief that although he has the freedom to do as he pleases, he chooses not to be enslaved by anything. The absence of explicit consequences for sexual relations in today’s referenced scripture is a clarion call that we must not enslaved by anything, particularly if we genuinely desire God’s presence in our bodies, which are His temples.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to accept Your no for no and Your yes for yes. I ask this in Jesus’s name. Amen.
