Beware of the world’s standards
As human beings, we often think that certain actions and experiences can be kept private from others, following the famous saying, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” However, it’s essential to remember that there is someone who knows everything – God.

When the “I AM WHO I AM” instructed the people of Israel not to adopt the behaviours of the regions from which He liberated them and the promised land to which He was guiding them, it was because God was fully aware of all the despicable activities occurring behind closed doors in these areas. Both in Egypt and Canaan, the inhabitants were involved in various immoral activities, including incest. This behaviour greatly displeased God, and when the inhabitants displayed no willingness to change, God brought judgment upon Egypt and led the people out of Canaan.

Despite the likelihood of the population of those who engaged in such atrocities in these places being greater than the population of the people of Israel, the gap did not make it right to emulate such behaviour. Friends, what truly matters is not society’s stance on a particular issue but God’s stance, and we need to stand for God’s glory without fear of standing apart from societal norms.

Prayer
Dear God, please help me resist conforming to the world’s standards but always align with Yours in every aspect. I pray this in Jesus’s name. Amen.
