Leviticus 17:13 NLT
“And if any native Israelite or foreigner living among you goes hunting and kills an animal or bird that is approved for eating, he must drain its blood and cover it with earth.”
Clean up
Today’s referenced scripture holds several insights for living. First, it reveals that both the natives and foreigners can engage in hunting. God didn’t cherry-pick on who could do it. The fact that the word ‘if’ preceded the endeavour suggests that the endeavour was not set in stone for the people. Suppose the word ‘when’ had been used instead of ‘if,’ and then we can conclude that it was their way of life. Are you engaging in the ‘if’ or ‘when’ endeavours? Thirdly, the Lord asserts that as long as the animal or bird killed was approved, its blood must be carefully discarded. Lastly, the pronoun used indicated that the endeavour was associated with men. The Lord emphasized that the man who engaged in the hunting must do what is needed. The I AM WHO I AM didn’t burden the priesthood to clean up after the people. Friends, no man can clean up after you, and even if he does, a time will come when such a person gets tired. However, Christ Jesus never gets tired, and His reach knows no bounds.
Prayer
Living God, I have undertaken several endeavours, and their aftermath overwhelms me. I need help cleaning them up. Please, Lord Jesus, come to my aid. Amen.
