“and purify the Most Holy Place, the Tabernacle, the altar, the priests, and the entire congregation.”

According to the scripture referenced today, the old covenant bestowed power upon the garments worn by the priest. As long as the high priest puts on the holy linen garments, he can purify the Most Holy Place, the Tabernacle, the altar, the priests, and the entire congregation. Without wearing these garments, the high priest’s ability to carry out purification rituals would have been nonexistent.

However, under our Saviour’s grace, we no longer rely on specific garments for purification. Our purification is based not on items that depreciate but on our relationship with the Creator. Our purification comes through accepting the completed work of Jesus on the cross at Calvary, which does not degrade or become ineffective over time. Friends, your attire, whether fanciful or not, does imbue righteousness, but only Christ does.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, please help me not to place my faith in the shadow but in the finished work of Christ on the cross at Calvary. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
