Leviticus 16:28 NLT
“The man who burns them must wash his clothes and bathe himself in water before returning to the camp.”
Don’t burden others
Working for the Lord doesn’t mean that we should become a burden to others. In 2 Thessalonians 3, Paul reminded the brethren at Thessalonica that he and his co-workers could have demanded certain rights from them, but they chose not to. In today’s referenced scripture, the Lord instructed that the man who burns the animals’ hides, internal organs, and dung must wash his clothes and bathe.
It is important to stress that the tasks were performed outside the camp, and the Lord did not mention that the man in charge of the responsibilities could use the help of assistants, suggesting that he must have performed the tasks alone. He must have searched for water by himself to carry out the tasks. Friends, the lesson for us is that our responsibility is solely our responsibility, and we must carry our cross and follow our Lord daily (Matthew 16:24).
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, please help me so that I will not burden anyone because I am working for You. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
