Leviticus 16:26 NLT
“The man chosen to drive the scapegoat into the wilderness of Azazel must wash his clothes and bathe himself in water. Then he may return to the camp.”
God cares for all
In human relationships, gestures often go unrewarded, fading into oblivion as quickly as they are performed. However, the modus operandi of God stands in stark contrast to this. Unlike humans, God never overlooks our acts of love (Hebrews 6:10). As stated in Matthew 10:23, our Lord and Savior assures us that no effort goes unnoticed. It’s crucial to recognize that this attitude is not a novelty of the new covenant; instead, it has always been an inherent aspect of God’s nature. The scripture attests to His faithfulness spanning all generations, from the past to the present and into the future.
The referenced scripture presents us with two instructions God gave to the chosen man responsible for leading the scapegoat to the wilderness of Azazel. Adherence to these instructions guaranteed the man’s safe return to the camp. These directives serve as a testament to God’s concern not only for Aaron but for all individuals. It is a reminder that God deeply cares for each of us, and every endeavour we undertake in His vineyard is eternally valued and appreciated.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that You are the God of people with names but equally the God of the nameless people. Please help me to always bear this eternal truth in my heart. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
