Leviticus 16:15 NLT
“Then Aaron must slaughter the first goat as a sin offering for the people and carry its blood behind the inner curtain. There he will sprinkle the goat’s blood over the atonement cover and in front of it, just as he did with the bull’s blood.”
DIY: Do it yourself
In today’s scripture reference, the Lord instructed Aaron to slaughter the first goat as a sin offering. Notably, the instruction did not specify that Aaron should oversee the slaughtering of the goat. This omission underscores the Lord’s expectation that Aaron shoulder the responsibility and execute the task. This serves as a profound lesson for us. When we receive a task from God, it is not for us to pass it on to others but to embrace it fully and execute it with utmost dedication.
Additionally, the Lord instructed that Aaron carry the blood of the slaughtered goat behind the inner curtain. This task was meant for Aaron alone, and he was not to delegate it to anyone else. This shows us that some tasks are meant for us alone, and we should not try to pass them off to others.
It is also noteworthy that Aaron was well into his eighties when he received these instructions. Despite his advanced age, he did not question God’s choice or complain about his physical limitations. Instead, he trusted God’s promise of strength and relied on it to complete the task. This is a powerful reminder that age does not hinder fulfilling God’s work. If God has chosen us for a task, He will equip us with the necessary strength and ability to accomplish it.
In conclusion, let us strive to walk with God diligently, taking personal responsibility for the tasks He gives us and trusting in Him to provide us with the strength we need to fulfill them.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray that You will help me not to disappoint You in any area in which my total dedication is expected. Please help me, Lord Jesus. Amen.
