Leviticus 16:3 NLT
”When Aaron enters the sanctuary area, he must follow these instructions thoroughly. He must bring a young bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering.“
‭‭
No cherry-picking
In the Old Testament, the sanctuary was considered sacred, and only one person could enter it. Even Moses was not allowed to enter. Instead, the Lord appointed Aaron as the authorized person to enter the sanctuary. However, the endeavour must be performed with total compliance with the instructions set aside by the Lord.

According to the Lord’s instructions, Aaron had to approach the sanctuary with a young bull and a ram. The ram was to be used as a burnt offering, symbolizing the worshipper’s complete dedication to God. On the other hand, the bull was for a sin offering, acknowledging that Aaron was a sinner and needed God’s mercy.

Through these offerings, Aaron acknowledged his unworthiness and asked for God’s forgiveness. He could only enter the sanctuary and stand in the gap for others. This was a solemn responsibility, as Aaron had to represent the people before God and seek His favour on their behalf. The Lord’s instructions were clear, and Aaron had to follow them carefully to fulfill this sacred duty.

Friends, do you always follow all the Lord’s instructions or pick and choose which ones to obey? It’s important to remember that God is not pleased with partial obedience. He wants us to obey completely. So, let’s strive to follow all of His commands, not just some of them.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that I will not cherry-pick Your instructions but fully obey them at all times. I acknowledge that I am a sinner; please help me. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
